Couple Walking on Cedar Robbed at Gunpoint


Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— Park Forest police are seeking two men who allegedly robbed a young couple at gunpoint walking home from a movie last Thursday night.

According to police, the couple had just left the movie theater in DownTown Park Forest was robbed at gunpoint on November 22 sometime after 11 p.m.  The couple reported that they were walking east on the sidewalk in the 0 – 100 block of Cedar when two male black subjects jumped out from behind a bush.  The first subject was described as approximately 6’3”, and was armed with a black handgun.  The handgun was described as having a long round barrel with a large object at the end which looked like a silencer.  He was wearing a black winter jacket with a blue hooded sweatshirt underneath, and black gym shoes.  The first suspect kept saying, "Lay down or we’re gonna shoot you!"

The suspect put the gun to the male victim’s head and forced him to the ground, according to police.

The second subject, described as a black male approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a black winter jacket and black gym shoes, forced the female victim to the ground.  The second subject kept yelling, "Lay down!  Lay down!"  While the female victim was on the ground, the second subject reached into her pocket and removed two $20 bills.  The suspect then kicked the female victim in the left side of her face, according to police.  The suspect then took her purse.  The first suspect removed the male victim’s wallet. 

When the suspects began to leave, they began to look through the purse.  The female victim yelled that she would give them the money if they left her the purse.  The second suspect removed a leopard print pocketbook from the purse and threw the purse back toward the female victim.  The first suspect, meanwhile, kept the gun pointed at both victims.  When the suspects ran, they ran into the parking lot of C-9.  The female victim then called 911 on her cell phone.
