Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— Despite the humidity, both children and adults danced, limboed, hula-hooped and conga-lined to the sounds of Dave Rudolph on Wednesday, August 1st at Main Street Nights.

Dave Rudolph’s interactive music attracts people of all ages. Rudolph’s music ranges from lively children’s tunes to mellow renditions of Bob Marley songs, providing a fun and relaxing atmosphere for the community to enjoy.

Dave Rudolph, a Park Forest resident of 30 years, has 21 albums under his belt, with  6 more in production, has worked with Disney and tours the country. However, he loves performing in his hometown and says he always has fun here. Rudolph feels that interaction with children is important at a very young age and it’s good to see so many at events such as these.

Beth Brecher, a Park Forest resident, was excited to see Rudolph perform. Brecher, who was with her niece and nephew, is a strong supporter of Main Street Nights.

Brecher exclaimed, “I’m a fan because it seems like a good gathering for Park Forest, it’s very popular and there are a lot of kids, good acts, and it’s always nice to see such a beautiful stage being used!”

Other residents who attended, Mary Close and her husband Allen, make an attempt to attend Main Street Nights a couple times every year. Close enjoys the feeling of community and the good entertainment that can be experienced.

“…Oh, and the car shows!” says Close, “we love the car shows!”

Nancy Birnbaum attended the shows with her parents, who have been part of the Park Forest community for 47 years. While Birnbaum now lives in Chicago, she visits frequently, stating that Park Forest is one of the most integrated communities in Chicago and “that’s fantastic!”

Following Dave Rudolph was the Jeff Stiteley Orchestra, who catered to a more adult crowd. As the sun set and the humidity gave way to a light breeze, the jazzy tunes had the audience cheering and dancing.  The band, consisting of keyboards, trumpets, saxophone, bass, guitar, drums, and male and female vocals, performed a wide variety of music. The songs ranged from Simon and Garfunkel’s “Cecilia” to Aretha Franklin’s “Respect” and the disco hits “Burn Baby Burn” and “Play That Funky Music”.

Main Street Nights has and continues to provide an entertaining and comfortable environment for Park Forest residents, offering a sense of camaraderie for all.
