Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— eNews Park Forest staff reporter Jonathan Pitman graduated Magna Cum Laude from Prairie State College on Saturday, May 17. Earning an Associate of Arts degree in Mass Communication, Pitman is a 4-star member in the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.
He was nominated for the 2008 All-USA Community College Academic Team and was a recipient of the 2008 All-State Academic Team Award. He was on the National Deans list in 2007, and received Student Leadership Awards as a staff writer for the Student Review (2006-2007) and Phi Theta Kappa (2006, 2007, and 2008).
He has been on the PSC Honor’s List from 2006 to the present. His volunteer work includes working at St. Margaret Mercy Hospital in Dyer and working with the Boys and Girls Club of America in Valparaiso, IN.
Jonathan has been writing for eNews Park Forest since October, 2007. He has covered news from the Prairie State College board of education and written several automobile reviews.
He plans to pursue a degree in Elementary Education at Purdue University Calumet in the fall.
