Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— Park Forest Police held a free child safety seat inspection Saturday in the Village Hall parking lot off Indianwood Boulevard. The event was run in conjuction with the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives , and sponsored in part by State Farm Insurance. When interviewed Saturday, Officer La Tara Chaney said they had already inspected 20 to 30 cars.

"We’re checking the car seats to make sure that they’re properly installed.  We also make sure they’re not on the recall list or that they have expired.  If the seat is okay, we’ll double check to make sure that the seat is properly installed.  If the seat is on recall or expired, then we provide them with a new seat.”

Chaney said the new seats were provided by State Farm Agents Mike Jordan and “Bree” Breedlove, and NOBLE.

Chaney said children from infancy to eight years old are required to be in a childs safety seat when riding and automobiles.
