Holdup In Metra Parking Lot

Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— Two men reported to police that they were robbed at gunpoint in the Metra parking lot located in Park Forest.

On Friday, December 21, at around 11:20 p.m., a man, his girlfriend, and another man exited the Metra train and were walking to their cars. After the frist man escorted his girlfriend to her vehicle, she drove away, and the two continued to walk to their vehicle parked in the lot. While walking, they were approached by two men, one black and one white, who asked them for money. Both advised the subjects that they did not have any money. The male black subject continue to follow asking them for money.

Upon arriving at the parking bay where their car was parked, they entered their vehicle, but the male black subject became irate and began to kick the driver’s side door demanding money. While that subject was kicking the door, the white subject stood to the rear of the vehicle, blocking any possible exit as a snow embankment blocked the front of the vehicle. After having his door kicked, the driver again told the subject he had nothing to offer.

The man who had been kicking the door then allegedly reached toward his waistband for what appeared to be a handgun and stated, "You don’t want to do this, I’ll blast you!” The driver then slowly lowered his window and handed his cell phone to the man because he was in fear for his safety, according to the report.

After relinquishing his phone, the two offenders moved from behind the vehicle, allowing the driver and his passenger to exit.
