Home Invasion on Allegheny Ends When Suspects Flee

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Allegheny Street on May 22 at 12:59 a.m. to investigate a report of a home invasion. According to a witness, a suspect came to the kitchen door asking for change for a $20 bill. The resident allowed the suspect to step inside the kitchen, and gave him a ten dollar bill, five dollar bill, and five singles. The suspect then asked for a cigarette.

The suspect then allegedly unlocked the kitchen door, permitting a second suspect, who was wearing a red bandanna over his face, to enter the residence. The first suspect then put a chrome revolver to the resident’s head. The resident grabbed the revolver and  began to struggle with the suspect. The second suspect then allegedly punched the resident in the head several times. The resident told his children to call 911.

At some point, the two suspects ran out of the house. Police recovered the $20 bill the first subject gave the resident and gathered other evidence from the scene. Police continue to investigate.
