5th Annual Comedy Cantina to be Held on Friday, May 12

Despite rhetoric and policy changes from current administration, community joins together to celebrate culture and raise funds for community schools

CHICAGO—(ENEWSPF)–May 9, 2017. Brighton Park Neighborhood Council (BPNC) and Mikey O Comedy Show present BPNC’s 5th Annual Comedy Cantina. BPNC partnered with Mikey O Comedy Show over 5 years ago to raise funds for the school-based programs in Brighton Park. All proceeds benefit the school-based programs of the Brighton Park Neighborhood Council. BPNC’s expects over 800 people from all over Chicago to attend Comedy Cantina this year!

The event will take place on Friday, May 12 at IUOE Local 399, 2260 South Grove Street in Chicago.  Doors open at 6 p.m. with the show starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 (plus $0.85 service charge) and can be purchased here.

Direct from Los Angeles, this year’s headliner is Joey Medina from Latin Kings of Comedy. Other featured guest include Gwen La Roka from Laugh Factory and Ana Belaval from WGN’s Around Town. Chicago’s own Guapachosos will bring their unique “urban cumbia” sound to liven up the dance floor. DJ Bass Boy and DJ Vergil will keep people dancing all night.

BPNC’s annual comedy show unites Chicago residents for a night of laughs, dance, and fun! Come on out, enjoy the show, and support BPNC’s efforts to raise funds for youth in the Brighton Park community. Tickets can be purchase online at BPNC’s website or at the office located at 4477 S. Archer Ave.

Brighton Park Neighborhood Council (BPNC) is a community-based, grassroots organization located on Chicago’s Southwest side. We work to empower our community and build its capacity by providing school and community-based services and programs. BPNC also engages leaders in social justice organizing campaigns.
