The next meeting of the Sauk-Calumet Sierra Club Group will be on Monday, February 12th, at the Frankfort Public Library, 21119 Pfeiffer Rd. in Frankfort at 7:15 pm.
The program will highlight a father-daughter team who backpacked the John Muir Trail in California this past summer. Mel Tracy and his 17-year-old daughter Molly will share slides and tell tales of their joy-filled 250-mile backpack trip hiking north on California’s John Muir Trail from 30 miles south of Mt. Whitney to Yosemite Valley. Their 3 week experience included snow, then floodwaters, and finally fire danger.
