Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- State Farm Agent Bree Breedlove and Officer Julius Moore of the Park Forest Police Department will present a bicycle safety program on Saturday, August 24, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The event will occur at Breedlove’s State Farm office, 2562 Western Avenue, in Park Forest.
Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m.
According to a brochure issued by Breedlove’s office, "With the upcoming school year beginning, this special event is designed for youths between the ages of 5 and 15 years old. Each participant will have their bike inspected for safety, perform several Skill Tasks demonstrating how to handle their bikes under different conditions, and an opportunity to ask the Park Forest Police questions."
According to the brochure, "After successfully completing the course, a picture ID card and a gift bag will be given to each participant."
Cyclists must bring their bikes, helmets, and a parent/guardian (must be present for the event).
Highlights of the course include:
- short radius turning;
- weaving and maneuvering;
- circling and changing direction;
- speed control.
