Center On Halsted Hosts Silk Road Theatre Project March 16, 2010

Chicago, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Center on Halsted presents actOUT with Silk Road Theatre Project; an intimate conversation with OUT playwright and Artistic Director Jamil Khoury and OUT stage director Steve Scott, discussing their World Premiere "The DNA Trail" A Genealogy of Short Plays about Ancestry, Identity, and Utter Confusion. Tuesday, March 16, 7pm-8:30pm at Center on Halsted located at 3656 N. Halsted in Chicago.

THE DNA TRAIL: A Genealogy of Short Plays about Ancestry, Identity, and Utter Confusion is conceived by Jamil Khoury and directed by Steve Scott. Theatre meets science when a diverse group of playwrights each agree to take a genealogical DNA test and revisit their assumptions about identity politics and the perennial "who am I" question. Self, family, community, and ethnicity are all up for grabs. The DNA trail is comprised of seven unique, identity-defying short plays. The DNA Trail runs March 2 – April 4, 2010 at Pierce Hall in The Historic Chicago Temple Building, 77 W. Washington St., across the street from the Picasso.
