Community Gathering In Support Of Officer Tim Jones To Be Held Tonight In Park Forest

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- A community gathering in support of critically wounded Park Forest Police Officer Tim Jones will be held tonight in Park Forest.  Jones was shot while attempting to make an arrest Saturday morning and remains in critical condition.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. at St. Irenaeus Church, 78 Cherry Street, with an official program beginning at 6 p.m. Scheduled speakers include Father Terry Johnson of St. Irenaeus Church along with leadership from the Park Forest Police Department and the Village of Park Forest.

Large get well soon cards will be set-up on easels for attendees to write encouraging messages to Officer Jones.  Following this evening’s event, the cards will be available for signing in the lobby of Park Forest’s Village Hall, 350 Victory Drive, during normal business hours.  The cards will be delivered to Jones later this week.

Blue ribbons will also be distributed this evening for residents to tie around trees, posts, or to place on front doors as an additional showing of support.

All members of the public are encouraged to attend tonight’s event to show their support for Officer Jones and his family.
