‘Cool Cities’ Program at Local Sierra Club Meeting

MATTESON—(ENEWSPF)—November 30, 2012.  The Sauk-Calumet Group of the Illinois Sierra Club will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, December 10, at 7:15 p.m. at the Olympia Fields Village Hall, 20701 Governor’s Highway; the old Village Hall is on the corner of Governor’s Highway and 207th Street; just enter from 207th Street.

This program will be an update on community efforts to manage climate change.  We will look at what’s happening with the U.S. Mayors’ Climate Protection Agreement and the nine cities in our group’s area that have been working on becoming more energy-efficient “Cool Cities.”

Sierra Club meetings are free and open to the public.  People who enjoy outdoor activities, or who want to protect the environment, or who wish to preserve the world in which we live, are encouraged to attend.  For additional information, contact Patrick Coffey, Publicity Chair, at [email protected].
