Grande Prairie Singers Offer Song For All Choral Music Junkies

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Grande Prairie Singers perform small masterworks in their intended settings.
Newly appointed artistic director and conductor, Jo Rodenburg is an award-winning, international performer. Having firsthand knowledge and understanding of the skills and tools necessary for the voice as an expressive artistic medium, she is committed in sharing that experience with the Grande Prairie Singers. The collaboration between the group and their new Artistic Director has yielded marvelous results, as they are performing with the same musical sensitivity and heart for which Rodenburg is renowned.

The Grande Prairie Singers have been making beautiful choral music available in the Chicago Southland for over a quarter of a century. Beginning in 1977 as the Park Forest Singers, they have grown to include the finest voices from 28 suburbs and villages. An auditioned mixed choir, they come from all walks of life and range in age from 17 to 80 and represent more than 35 years of professional choral training.

The Grande Prairie Singers have also collaborated with the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra’s holiday concerts.  The performances have been proclaimed "one of the top ten musical events of the season" by The Star Newspapers.

Step out of the holiday bustle with ‘Christmas Through the Ages’ by basking in the ethereal sounds of Vivaldi’s Gloria, with orchestra, and Christmas music from the 14th to the 21st centuries. The concert is Sunday, December 12, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at Faith United Protestant Church located at 10 Hemlock in Park Forest, IL (2 blocks west of Western Avenue on Hemlock).
