Green Guides Network to Hold Kick-off Meetings on Jan. 28 & Feb. 2

 Share sustainability resources with neighbors

.

OAK PARK–(ENEWSPF)–January 14, 2016.  The Green Guides program is being developed by PlanItGreen, and River Forest and Oak Park sustainability organizations in response to a need to share, at the neighborhood level, the many sustainability resources available to our communities.  Green Guides are not expected to be experts, just to have a willingness to connect neighbors to already existing opportunities and resources.

Have you thought about energy efficiency but not known what you can do to get the biggest savings?

Not sure what to do with an item that may or may not be recyclable?

Seen those nice lawn signs celebrating your neighbors for having pesticide free lawns and wondered where you can get one?

How can you find out if your house has leaks that can be fixed to reduce your water usage?

Support for Green Guides

Green Guides help to point their neighbors to the right place to find these answers and many more.  PlanItGreen will provide a quarterly newsletter, materials, resources, talking points, and more for Green Guides to use in getting the word out to your neighbors.

Residents who wish to serve as a Green Guide choose the block(s) or building that you would like to cover.  You decide how best to connect to your neighbors (email, phone, in-person).

Make a big impact with little effort!
