‘Harvest of Empire: The Untold Story of Latinos in America’ to be Screened at UUCC on Saturday, October 26


Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—October 21, 2013. The documentary movie ‘Harvest of Empire: The Untold Story of Latinos in America’ will be screened at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church (UUCC), 70 Sycamore Drive, Park Forest, on Saturday, October 26. The evening will begin with an optional pot luck dinner at 6 p.m. with the movie screening scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. A discussion will follow the film.

‘Harvest of Empire’ is an eye-opening documentary that examines the direct connection between the long history of U.S. intervention in Latin America and the immigration crisis we face today. ‘Harvest of Empire’ takes an unflinching look at the role that U.S. economic and military interests played in triggering an unprecedented wave of migration that is transforming our nation’s culture and economic landscape.

This event is sponsored by the Justice and Peace Ministry of the Office for Human Dignity in the Catholic Diocese of Joliet and the Unitarian Universalist Community Church in Park Forest.
