On Tuesday, April 10, the League of Women Voters – Park Forest Area will host a special meeting/reception for Ms. Bonnie Cox, President of the League of Women Voters of Illinois.   The meeting, “Dialogue with Drinks,” will be held at the Park Forest Tennis and Health Club, 290 Westwood Drive in Park Forest. The event will begin at 7:00 p.m.   There will be a cash bar with appetizers provided.

We are enthusiastic about introducing Ms. Cox to our south suburban community and to learn about the activities and positions of the League of Women Voters of Illinois.  In this fun, informal setting there will be an open discussion of the league’s national and state campaign, “Making Democracy Work,” which focuses on such areas as voter education, issue advocacy and citizen participation.

All are welcome to attend this event.

The League of Women Voters National Convention will be held from June 28 through July 1 at the Hilton Chicago, which is another opportunity to learn about the League of Women Voters.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization which encourages informative and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. The LWV encourages citizens to register to vote and provides public education for voters on election issues. The League does not support or oppose any candidate for public office. Anyone interested in promoting responsible government is invited to be a member. For more information visit www.lwvpfa.org.
