League of Women Voters – Park Forest Area to Host Presentation on Millennium Reserve on April 12

Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—March 30, 2016.  Please join The League of Women Voters – Park Forest Area for a presentation by Sarah Coulter, Senior Program Manager for the Millennium Reserve. The presentation will take place on Tuesday, April 12 at 7 p.m. at the Park Forest Public Library, 400 Lakewood Boulevard.

The Millennium Reserve is a high level collaboration of environmental organizations, foundations, community-based groups and representatives from state, county and local governments.  The Millennium Reserve’s geography includes 20 Chicago south side neighborhoods and 36 south suburban municipalities, including over 15,000 acres of open space, waterways and remnants of formerly vast wetlands, nationally historic landmarks and districts, and critically important reminders of the region’s contemporary and historic status as a mid-continental hub of industry and transportation.

The mission of the Reserve is to provide the catalyst for innovative actions that stimulate economic growth, restore and enhance natural ecosystems, support healthy and prosperous communities and honor the region’s cultural and industrial past.
