Liberty Hill Foundation’s Chief Development Officer Darrell L. Tucci Joins GLSENS NATIONAL Leadership Council

New York, NY–(ENEWSPF)– GLSEN, the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, and its National Leadership Council announced today the election of Darrell L.Tucci. Darrell is currently the Chief Development Officer at the Liberty Hill Foundation, where he oversees all individual, corporate and event revenue and their donor engagement work.

Darrell has been a non-profit professional for the last 12 years. Beginning on the program management side until 2001 when he shifted to non-profit fundraising and development. In 2007, Darrell relocated from New Jersey and New York to Los Angeles, after eight years in development and philanthropic advisory functions in national organizations, including, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) and a 3 year tenure as the Associate Development Director here at GLSEN.

"We are so pleased that Darrell has agreed to be a part of GLSEN, once again. He will bring veteran knowledge and a deep understanding of the organization and its mission," said Frank Smith, Chair of the National Leadership Council.

Darrell has been a donor activist since college after his local GLSEN chapter helped him with the resources he needed to come out. He has served on the Board of Directors for a number of community organizations, including serving as Board President of Buddies of New Jersey, Northern New Jersey’s foremost resource center for people infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS.

It is estimated Darrell has raised, professionally and voluntarily, more than $20 million dollars in the last 8 years, a majority for LGBT and HIV/AIDS organizations, but, as he says "it is not just about the money". For Darrell, its about helping each donor harness the power of their philanthropy as a force for change.

Again, we are happy to welcome back Darrell Tucci to GLSEN, in his new role as a member of the National Leadership Council.
