Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- “Material World”, an exhibit featuring the three dimensional works of Barbara Goldsmith, Iris Goldstein, Roberta Malkin, Sarah Nishiura, Perry Pollock, Christine Rojek, Homa Shojaie, Yemonja Smalls, Yvette Kaiser Smith, and Neha Vedpathak, will open at the Tall Grass Arts Association Gallery on June 7. Michele P. Owens and Jeff Stevenson curated the exhibit. It presents three dimensional, sculptural artwork made with materials as diverse as the artists who created them. Fabric, fiber, clay, glass, fiberglass, steel, aluminum and plaster were used by local, regional, national and international artists to create pieces that range from 3 1/2 inches to 21 feet.
The exhibit will run through July 21, 2013. There will be a Gallery Coffee Talk on Saturday, June 8 at 11am. The Coffee Talk is open to the public, free of charge. Several of the exhibiting artists will discuss and demonstrate the art processes that they utilize.
Tall Grass Arts Association serves the south suburbs of Chicago as well as neighboring communities in Lake County Indiana and Will County Illinois. The gallery is located at 367 Artists Walk, Park Forest, IL 60466. It is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00am to 4:00pm (closed Sunday and Monday).
