Minnesota Senator Ann Hiller Rest to Speak at April 12 Potpourri of Lectures at Park Forest Library


Park Forest, IL—(ENWESPF)—April 8, 2012.  The Park Forest Public Library’s April 12 Potpourri of Lectures will feature Senator Ann Hiller Rest, a 1960 graduate of Rich Township High School, speaking on the topic of “Transformative Leadership: Is Bi-Partisanship Possible?”  The lecture will begin at 10:30 a.m.

Ann has been a member of the Minnesota Senate since 1984.  She has chaired the State and Local Government Operations and Oversight Committee and served as Assistant Majority Leader when the Democrats were in control of the Senate.  Her legislative interests are in tax policy, education funding and transportation, whose committees she’s served on. 

Ann graduated with a BA from Northwestern and MA from the University of Chicago in Classics.  She has further degrees from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and the University of Minnesota.  She taught in suburban schools in Chicago and Minneapolis before joining the Minnesota Senate. 

The Park Forest Library is located at 400 Lakewood Boulevard.  The lecture is free and open to the public.
