Sertoma Centre’s BIG Event Being Held Earlier this Year


Please mark your calendar and bring your appetite on Saturday April 28th, 2012. 

Alsip, IL—(ENEWSPF)—March 9, 2012.  Sertoma Centre’s BIG Event 2012 – sponsored by SouthtownStar Newspaper and the Aileen S. Andrew Foundation, will be held a little earlier this year and that’s a good thing. You won’t have to wait so long for some delicious ribs, sensational chicken or firehouse chili. Where else can you go for $10 and have fantastic food, the excitement of watching firemen compete in a cook-off judged by sports celebrities?  Dave Fleming the magician and juggler will perform on stage at 6:30 pm and live music will be provided by Sound Barrier.  There’s raffles and fun for the entire family. Please mark your calendar and join us on Saturday April 28th, from 5 – 9 p.m. at 115 Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park, IL 

If you are a firefighter or know someone who is a firefighter, then consider competing in the hottest firehouse cook-off in town. Trophies and prizes are awarded for each category: chicken, ribs, chili, and ethnic dishes. Chefs prepare sample size portions for 500 people and are reimbursed up to $500 for food expenses.
