Tall Grass Arts Association is honored to present the works of five highly respected, nationally and internationally exhibited and awarded artists in its new WATER. FIRE. ICE. EARTH. AIR. The exhibit runs from Friday, January 19 through Saturday, February 24. An artists’ reception will be held on Saturday, January 20, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
The artists featured in this exhibit are Elizabeth, Busey, Lorna Filippini, Cheryl Holz, Beth Shadur and Valerie Taglieri. Creating drawings, paintings, prints, reliefs and books inspired by natural forms and forces, the artists all share concern for the environment as well as a willingness to use unexpected methods and materials to represent nature’s elements.
These five artists have had their works shown in juried and invitational solo and group exhibitions at museums and galleries in the United States and abroad, and purchased by art collectors, corporations, and hospitals. Many have been recipients of awards, grants, and fellowships from the Illinois Arts Council as well as dozens of other organizations.
Curated by Claudia Craemer, the exhibit would be an excellent destination for adult and student groups who will find an incredible collection of thoughtful and technically beautiful works to study and enjoy.
