Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—November 3, 2013. A Veterans Day event has been scheduled on Wednesday, November 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Board Room of Park Forest Village Hall, 350 Victory Drive.
Focal points of this event will include a public education presentation on how to properly retire a worn/tattered American flag. Additionally, a Tuskegee Airman from the south suburbs is expected to be on hand to share some comments. Finally, a collection drive will unfold as part of this event as the Village seeks to collect hygiene items which will then be donated to the Veterans Retirement Home in Manteno. Preferred hygiene items include toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, deodorant, etc.
The event is open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend and bring an item to donate.
