Wolves Program at Local Sierra Club Meeting on December 9

Matteson—(ENEWSPF)—December 6, 2013. The Sauk-Calumet Group of the Illinois Sierra Club will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, December 9, at 7:15 p.m. at the Frankfort Public Library, 21119 Pfeiffer Rd. (just off Rt. 30).

Conservation writer Chris Johnson will discuss the controversial efforts to protect and restore the endangered wolf population in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.  Wolves have made a remarkable comeback due to the Endangered Species Act and an increased tolerance for predators and an appreciation of the role they play in our natural ecosystems.

Sierra Club meetings are free and open to the public. People who enjoy outdoor activities, who want to protect the environment, or who wish to preserve the world in which we live, are encouraged to attend. Join us for a fun and enlightening evening!
