Woodland Carols at Thorn Creek Nature Center on December 13

Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—November 25, 2014. Warm up to the Winter Solstice with Woodland Carolson Saturday, December 13 from noon to 2 p.m. at Thorn Creek Nature Center.   Savor homemade soups while listening to holiday music by popular area performers.   The event is an annual holiday food drive for the Rich Township Food Pantry. Admission is $10/person or one bag of non-perishable grocery items per person. You won’t want to miss this!

Local favorite Anna Stange rings in the holidays with her signature heart-felt folk songs and humor. Rock-funk fusion guitarists Christopher Kondrath and Robb Zetti provide inspired seasonal improvisations, and cellist Ingrid Krizan creates another unique “Bach & I” performance. Bring your most jolly voices and feel free to bring your favorite musical instrument to jam and join in our traditional holiday sing-along, warming us through the longest night of the year!

The Rich Township Food Pantry, located off of Governors Highway, regularly feeds over 750 low-income families from the ten surrounding communities in Rich Township.   All donations from Woodland Carols will help to feed these local families during the holiday season. Last year’s event provided bags of groceries and $380 in donations to the Food Pantry.

Register now for the “Woodland Carols” program. Cost for program is $10 per person, or one bag of groceries per person.   The event is for those ages 12 and older.
