23-Year-Old Man Dies After Falling 50 Feet During Bears Game


Chicago, IL–(ENEWSPF)– A 23-year-old man died after falling or jumping from a wall at Soldier Field today, witnesses said. The incident is under investigation.

A man in his 20s fell 50 feet to his death at Soldier Field while attending the Bears-Eagles game on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

The fall happened inside Soldier Field around 4:55 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Daniel O’Brien said.

Witnesses told a Chicago Fire Department chief on the scene that the man ran and jumped off a wall and landed on a room outside the west end of the stadium, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Joe Roccasalva said.

The room on which the man landed is about 15 feet high, and the fire department need an aerial tower with a basket to get him down, Roccasalva said.

Paramedics initially took the man to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition where he later died, Roccasalva said.

A 27-year-old man died after falling from an upper area at Soldier Field during the Chicago Bears game Sunday evening.

The Chicago Fire Department said the man, who has not been identified, was in the columns area of Soldier Field, 1400 South Museum Campus Drive, when he fell 50 feet and landed on the roof. Police are investigating the circumstances of his death.
