Chicago Police Officer Shot In Head, Killed In South Chicago Area

Chicago, IL–(ENEWSPF)– From the Chicago Sun-Times:

A Chicago Police evidence technician was shot in the head and killed Friday afternoon while investigating a car break-in at a garage in the South Chicago neighborhood, and the car’s owner, a former Chicago Housing Authority officer, was slain too.

Chicago Police officer Michael Flisk, 46, was processing the crime scene of the burglary about 1:30 p.m. in the 8100 block of South Burnham, when he and the 46-year-old car owner were shot to death, leaving the families of both men reeling.

The slaying marks the second time a Chicago Police officer was killed in less than a week.

“It’s surreal. Even when I was told, it didn’t resonate,” said Flisk’s sister-in-law, Gina Flisk. “He’s the one who kind of smoothed everything over with everybody. He wasn’t the oldest, but he was the one who kind of made everybody happy.”
