Concrete Patching Snarls Traffic Along Lincoln Highway

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Drivers should allow extra stime and use alternated routes when traveling along a 3.5-mile stretch of Lincoln Highways (U.S. Route 30) for about five weeks. The work began on Monday.

Motorists should expect:

  • Permanent lane closures in both directions of Lincoln Highway (U.S. 30) from Cicero Avenue (Illinois Route 50) in Matteson to a quarter-mile east of Western Avenue in Chicago Heights.
  • Heavy congestion will create substantially longer travel times for motorists traveling through Matteson, Park Forest, Olympia Fields and Chicago Heights.
  • All work is expected to be completed by early December 2009.
  • All work and related closures are weather dependent.

The work is expected to last until December, unless, of course, it goes longer.

Some things are difficult to forecast.
