Washington, DC–(ENEWSPF)–October 20, 2015. Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (IL-08) issued the following statement condemning recent attacks on Israeli civilians:
“I am sickened by the tragic attacks in Israel and the West Bank over the past several days. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families and the entire Israeli community during this tumultuous time. This violence has no valid justification and makes a peaceful resolution to the region’s struggles more difficult. The international community and Palestinian leaders, including President Abbas, must condemn these attacks and the individuals that perpetrated them.”
“Israel has a fundamental right and responsibility to protect itself and its people—as does every country. I stand with Israel in condemning these despicable attacks and remain steadfast in my commitment to strengthening America’s bilateral security initiatives with our vital ally. Whether it’s combating the threat of missiles launched by a hostile nation-state or working to prevent isolated acts of terror, the United States and Israel have a shared interest in finally ending the bloodshed and bringing stability to the region.”
