“Tonight, the President outlined a clear way forward for our country, one in which our economy works for all Americans. For far too long, our middle class has been weighed down by a tax code that has allowed the wealthy to avoid paying their fair share. By reducing this burden and reinvesting in middle class families, by putting more money in their pockets and making it easier for them to afford their homes and send their kids to school, we put the American Dream within everyone’s reach.
I support the President’s proposals and encourage my colleagues in Congress to work to find middle ground in crafting legislation to advance these ideas and put more Americans on the path to prosperity.”
