Congresswoman Robin Kelly to Launch Economic Development Tour


Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—November 1, 2013. Representative Robin Kelly will kick off a weeklong Economic Development Tourto share her plan to promote business growth and job creation, to spotlight the thriving businesses in the 2nd District and to hear ideas from business owners on what supports they need to be successful.

As part of her economic development plan, Representative Kelly has introduced a bill to provide federal grants to underserved minority communities for economic growth and business recruitment and retention. She has also introduced legislation to extend tax credits to businesses to encourage hiring, including the hiring of veterans and SNAP benefits recipients.

On Monday, November 4, Representative Kelly will discuss her plan at:

8:30 – 9a.m. – Sip & Savor – 5301 South Hyde Park Boulevard, Chicago;

9:30 – 10a.m. – University of Chicago Comprehensive Cancer Center Knapp Center for Biomedical Discovery, 900 E. 57th Street, Chicago; and

3 – 3:30p.m. – Imperial Zinc Corp – 1031 E. 103rd St., Chicago.
