Friends of the Bark District Fund Established


Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Canine lovers now have an opportunity to help the Park Forest Bark District improve. “The Recreation and Parks Department has established a Friends of the Bark District fund,” says Program Supervisor Anna Marie Soloff. Soloff was instrumental in designing and planning the park.

With close to 100 families registered at the dog park, the new park is a work in progress. Village staff are currently exploring options for park pavilions or shelters for the dogs’ human companion. Trees are also on the agenda. Contributions will be used to help fund improvements.

The park is located at Winnebago Park, at the intersection of 218th Street and Wildwood Dr. The Park Forest Bark Districtis 3.5 acres, divided into two sections, with 5 foot high fencing. One must have their key card to enter the park. The park will feature benches, drinking fountains, bags, waste receptacles and shade for yourself and your dog to utilize.
