Local Group Forms to Support Bernie Sanders for President


Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—June 27, 2015. Chicago Southland for Bernie Sanders has launched a group to campaign for the popular senator from Vermont, who has been climbing up in the polls and playing to huge crowds across the country recently.

The group will have open regular meetings to discuss how to get Bernie nominated -then elected President of the United States in 2016.

Sen. Sanders is officially an independent, but is a candidate for the Democratic nomination.

Founding members of the group came together from a number of south suburbs and south side Chicago neighborhoods such as Pullman and the southeast side. Suburbs represented so far are Park Forest, Blue Island, Chicago Heights, Frankfort, Palos area, Hickory Hills, Tinley Park, Orland, Joliet, and Homewood.

The group plans voter registration, participating in parades and other community events, voter education, fundraising, and other efforts to get Bernie elected.

Volunteers are already lining up to travel to Iowa to help in the early Iowa caucus, and will be heading to Madison, Wisconsin on July 1 for a big rally in support of Bernie.

Meetings will be located in the South Suburbs each month; watch for an announcement with the location.
