175 Additional Stations to be Added to System in 2014
CHICAGO–(ENEWSPF)–December 10, 2013. Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Divvy, Chicago’s bike-share system, launched a new website today to solicit suggestions and feedback from Chicagoans on the locations for the 175 new Divvy stations scheduled to be added to the system in 2014.
On the website suggest.divvybikes.com, Chicagoans can make suggestions for locations and provide feedback on site suggestions others have made.
“Divvy has been a great success, and with the help of residents, we are going to expand its reach across Chicago,” said Mayor Rahm Emanuel. “With new stations to be added in 2014, Divvy will expand north, south and west into new neighborhoods as well as fill in gaps in the current service area.”
There are currently 300 Divvy stations located across Chicago, and funding has been secured to add 175 more in neighborhoods across Chicago next year. At 475 stations, Chicago would have the largest number of bike share stations than any other city in North America.
Since launching this summer, the bike share system has provided more than 725,000 trips to Chicago residents and visitors who have collectively ridden more than 1.7 million miles. Divvy has sold more than 130,000 daily passes and 11,500 annual memberships.
