Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—October 11, 2012. The Park Forest Fire Department will host the 32nd Annual Fallen Firefighters Memorial Parade tonight (October 11). This parade of silent, lights-only fire equipment and ambulances is dedicated to those who have lost their lives protecting ours. A short memorial service will be held at St. Irenaeus Church (located at the corner of Indianwood Blvd. and Orchard Drive) beginning at 6:30 p.m. The parade should step off at approximately 7 p.m.
Due to construction around town this year, the parade route has been changed and will be as follows:
The parade will kick-off in the Village Hall parking lot (across from St. Irenaeus Church) and turn left to travel east on Indianwood Boulevard to Forest Boulevard, turn left onto Forest Boulevard and continue north to Westwood Drive. Turn left and travel west on Westwood Drive to Sauk Trail where the parade will veer to the left and then right on to Shabbona Drive. Follow Shabbona to Orchard Drive, take Orchard Drive and follow to Indianwood Boulevard. Turn right on to Indianwood Boulevard and follow to the parking lot entrance just west of the fire station, completing at the Village Hall parking lot.
Be sure to come out to a curb along the parade route to show your support for our local heroes in the Fire Service.
