Representative Schakowsky: The Republican Budget – March Madness

Washington, DC–(ENEWSPF)–March 12, 2013 – Rep. Jan Schakowsky released the following statement on Rep. Paul Ryan’s Republican Budget:

“Despite a clear rejection of Republican budget priorities in the last election, today, the Republican party doubled-down as Rep. Paul Ryan released a budget that is virtually the same destructive one we’ve seen before. The polls have shown that the American people do not want a budget balanced on the backs of seniors, people with disabilities, the poor and the middle class. The American people don’t want Medicare turned over to the private insurance industry or food taken away from women and children. They don’t want austerity, they want investments in creating good jobs. Instead of getting even a dollar more by closing corporate tax loopholes, the Republican budget shortchanges these critical priorities.

“The Republican budget is the wrong choice for families, seniors and the middle class. It truly is March Madness.”
