Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Six people filed for office in Park Forest, the last, Georgia O’Neill, who waited in Village Hall until moments before the 5 p.m. filing deadline.

Filing to run for mayor are incumbent John Ostenburg, 11 Bigelow Street, and newcomer JeRome Brown, 356 Miami Street.

Filing for trustee are incumbents Mae Brandon, 28 Braeburn Drive, and Gary Kopycinski, 20 Ash Street; newcomer Carla LeVeaus, 3 Homan Circle, and incumbent Georgia O’Neill, 204 Hickory Street.

Brown filed 99 pages of signatures, some of them not filled with signatures. However, a brief review of petitions in Brown’s packet showed only a little over a dozen pages circulated by Brown himself. There was only one other Park Forest resident who circulated petitions for Brown, and eNews Park Forest only found two pages from this person. The vast majority of petitions in Brown’s packet were circulated by residents of Chicago, Calumet Park, South Holland, University Park, Richton Park, Chicago Heights, Hazel Crest, Riverdale and Plainfield.

The election is April 5, 2011.
