Matteson, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Hidden away in an industrial complex owned by the Stawicki’s the South Suburban Food Co-op recently had a pot luck picnic to celebrate their 35th year of being in business. After packing up their weekly booth at the Park Forest Farmer’s Market, they set up their picnic in the field just south of their store in Matteson, IL.

Gluten-free pasta, vegan desserts, organic hand-squeezed lemonade, farm-fresh salads and more were enjoyed by the owners/members of the Co-op. Even a few community members who visited the Co-op sampled the healthy products that the South Suburban Food Co-op sells. “What a great day for a picnic!” stated board member Nancy Hershberger, who organized the event.

The South Suburban Food Co-op welcomes visitors during their normal business hours and they have passes to allow one to shop without being an owner/member. If you are interested in learning more about the South Suburban Food Co-op, visit www.SouthSuburbanFoodCoop.com.
