Statement from Mayor Rahm Emanuel on U.S.-China Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade Coming to Chicago

CHICAGO–(ENEWSPF)–October 27, 2014.

“Increasing opportunities for trade between Chicago businesses and their Chinese counterparts is critical to the continued growth of our City’s economy. This is the first time that the JCCT has been held outside of Washington, D.C. in the U.S., and we are thrilled that Chicago will serve as the host city. Chicago has become the economic gateway for eight cities in China and we look forward to an ongoing conversation that will highlight the importance of economic partnerships, not only between the United States and China, but locally as well. The importance of global trade to our City’s economic growth cannot be understated and this summit will help highlight how Chicago and the nation can become stronger trade partners with China well into the future.”
