Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–July 1, 2014.  Crews in Park Forest are working quickly to remove debris left behind from a strong storm that blew through town last night.

Park Forest appears to have been one of a handful of towns to take the brunt of the storm with reported wind gusts up to 75 mph. Many trees were uprooted, some falling on homes causing property damage while others fell on power lines interrupting service. Some residents still remain without power. ComEd crews are working to correct the issues but still have no estimated time for restoration.

Residents with questions related to power interruption should contact ComEd at 800-334-7661.

Village Manager Tom Mick says Public Works crews typically only take bundled tree branches that meet certain size requirements, but due to the level of damage in town residents may place any sized branches curbside for pick-up through week’s end.

As a reminder to residents, the Village does not provide assistance in cutting trees or removing branches from the yards of residents. The Village will only pick-up branches placed at the curb.
