Street Sweeping Truck Accidentally Crushes Park Forest Man

A Park Forest man was accidentally crushed to death in the compressor of a street sweeping truck in Chicago while he apparently was repairing it, officials said Wednesday.

Police responded at 10:10 p.m. Tuesday to 1015 W. Pershing Road, where a 37-year-old mechanic for Elgin Street Sweeping was unresponsive, lodged in the compressor of one of the trucks in the company’s rear lot, police officer Amina Greer said.

Brian P. Miller, of the 100 block of Nanti Street, was dead on the scene after he became entrapped in the sweeper while working at the factory in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
