Tips Sought on Orland Park Home Invasion Suspect

CHICAGO–(ENEWSPF)–May 19, 2011.  Cook County Sheriff’s Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who broke into a southwest suburban couple’s home and while he didn’t appear to have stolen anything, the family noted he behaved erratically.

The incident happened around 3 a.m. Wednesday in the 16400 block of Lee Avenue in Orland Park. A female resident of the home told police she awoke because a child in the home was calling out for her. That woman woke to find the man standing above her. He was wearing only a black hoodie sweatshirt and women’s underwear.

She saw him move to the foot of the bed and lay down, in an apparent attempt to avoid being seen by anyone. But when a man in the room yelled out, the suspect replied in a deep voice, then calmly walked out of the room.

The adults in the home quickly checked on children living there and found all to be unharmed. Though the suspect walked past valuable items en route to the bedroom where he was seen, nothing appeared to be missing from the home. A side door was open and is likely the way the suspect entered and left the home.

The suspect is described as a white male, 20-30 years old, around 6-feet tall with a thin build and light colored long hair pulled back into a pony tail or bun hairstyle.

Anyone with information on the incident should call the Cook County Sheriff’s Police investigations unit at 708-865-4896 or the radio communications center at 847-635-1188.
