In Wake of February Bomb Threat, Interfaith Solidarity Rally to be Held at Des Plaines Mosque on Friday, March 3


Des Plaines, IL—(ENEWSPF)—March 3, 2017.  An interfaith solidarity vigil will be held on Friday, March 3 at the Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines (ICCD), 480 Potter Road. The rally will begin at 12:30 p.m. State Senator Daniel Biss is scheduled to participate.

On February 16, the ICCD suffered a bomb threat. In the face of an ongoing climate of incitement against the Muslim and Arab communities, and all Communities of Color, a diverse coalition of organizations will gather to express visible solidarity with the Muslim community of Des Plaines. Interfaith supporters will greet worshipers coming for the 12:30 and 1:30 prayer services.

Co-sponsors of the event include CAIR-Chicago, Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines (ICCD), Jewish Voice for Peace, Open Communities, Muslim Community Center, Muslim Public Affairs Council.

Parking is limited at ICCD, but there is additional parking available at the MarThoma Church located a few blocks north of the Masjid at 240 Potter Road in Des Plaines.
