Workers at Sensata are Not Going Down Without a Fight

Freeport, IL—(ENEWSPF)—October 26, 2012.  Progressive talk show host Tom Hartmann spoke with United Steelworkers (USW) International President Leo W. Gerard about the fight between Sensata workers and Bain Capital.

So far this year Bain Capital has made almost $880 million but is shutting down the Sensata factory in Freeport, Illinois on November 5th, just before the election. Presidential candidate Mitt Romney who has financial ties to Bain is assisting with sending the 170 American jobs off to China which will boost his income.

But the workers who will lose their jobs aren’t going down without a fight.  Workers have been holding rallies outside the factory for weeks, prompting Bain Capital on Tuesday to issue a threat that if protests continue then Bain would immediately shut down the plant.
