Man Shot on Hemlock Dies


Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— A man who was shot on Hemlock Sunday night later died, according to police.

According to a press release issued by the Park Forest Police Department, on Sunday, May 11, at approximately 11:00 P.M., the Park Forest Police were dispatched to the area of Court H-6 on Hemlock St. for a report of shots fired. A male subject was found lying in the middle of the court.

The victim was transported to St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields with two gunshot wounds to his left leg and hip area. While in the hospital, the victim complained of stomach pains and was brought into surgery where it was discovered a bullet had damaged numerous internal organs.

The victim was pronounced dead at 4:12 A.M.

The Park Forest Police contacted the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force who will assist in the investigation. The victim has been identified as Jonathan M. Edwards, 24, of Hammond, IN.
