Marian Band to March in 2010 Rose Bowl Parade

Chicago Heights, IL–(ENEWSPF)–  The Marian Catholic High School Band has been selected to march in the world-famous Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena , Calif. on Jan. 1, 2010. The Spartan Band, one of approximately 20 bands chosen to participate in the 121st Rose Parade, was selected from hundreds of high school bands throughout the United States and abroad.

The lone band in the nation to win seven Bands of America Grand National Championships, Marian will showcase its 2009-10 members on New Year’s Day in a five-mile march down  Pasadena ’s famed Colorado Boulevard . The Rose Parade is annually viewed by more than a million spectators live, along with a television audience of more than 350 million internationally.

Marian recently captured fourth place overall in the BOA Grand Nationals in Indianapolis , while earning first place in Class AA and winning class captions for Outstanding Music Performance, Outstanding Visual Performance and Outstanding General Effect. Fall accomplishments also included a 29th consecutive Illinois State championship in class.
