Marian Forensics Earns First at Oak Lawn Tourney


Chicago Heights, IL–(ENEWSPF)– For the second weekend in a row, the Marian Catholic Forensic team captured first place at the Oaklaus Santaburg Tournament held at Oak Lawn Community High School on Dec. 13. Event champions from Marian included Joe Wlos in Extemporaneous Speaking and Jon Williamsen with partner Chris Skurka in Humorous Duet Acting.

Additional medals were awarded to Chantal Freeman, who received third place in Oratorical Declamation; Kiayla Jackson also earned third place in Prose Reading; Chris Skurka earned third place in Original Comedy; Lauren Nix pulled fourth place in Special Occasion Speaking; Ashley Smith took sixth place in Poetry Reading; Martin Kudra was a finalist in Extemporaneous Speaking and Summer Fields was a finalist in Prose Reading.

The winning team is on hiatus until January 17, when it will resume competition at the annual Thornwood T-shirt Tournament.
