Marian Forensics Team Captures 1st at Thornridge

Chicago Heights, IL–(ENEWSPF)– With a total of 404 points, the Marian Catholic Forensic team placed first overall at Thornridge High School ’s annual Tree Tournament, topping runner-up Oak Lawn by four points. Marian had competitors final in almost all 13 events with three event champions: Joe Wlos (Extemporaneous Speaking), Chris Skurka (Original Comedy) and Skurka with partner Jon Williamsen (Humorous Duet Acting.)

Second-place medals were awarded to Anna Ceragioli (Original Oratory) and Kiayla Jackson (Prose Reading), while Jaime Patriarca (Dramatic Interpretation), Joe Wlos (Impromptu Speaking) and Summer Fields (Radio Speaking) earned third-place honors.

Other Marian finalists included Chantal Freeman (fourth in Oratorical Declamation sixth in Special Occasion Speaking); Kiayla Jackson (fifth, Humorous Interpretation); Lauren Nix (fifth, Special Occasion Speaking); Taylor Newhuis (fifth, Radio Speaking); Greg Rossbach (sixth, Original Comedy); and Tony Vaughn (sixth, Extemporaneous Speaking.)

Marian rounded out the tournament with finalists Ashley Orendorff (Humorous Interpretation), Mary Lou Herbias and Stephanie Lorenzetti (Humorous Duet Acting), Katie McCormick (Special Occasion Speaking), Jaime Patriarca and Jon Williamsen (Dramatic Duet Acting), and Martin Kudra (Extemporaneous Speaking.)
