Marian Grad Sworn In as Police Officer

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- A Marian Catholic graduate is the newest member of the Park Forest Police Department. Officer Regis Bowers was sworn in at the April 15, 2019 meeting of the Village Board.

A life-long resident of Hazel Crest, Illinois, Officer Bowers attended Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. “While attending college, Regis began working for Walmart as a sales associate, were he continued to work for the past 5½ years,” Village Manager Tom Mick said before Officer Bowers was sworn in.

“Regis is familiar with Park Forest,” Mr. Mick said, “as his mother, Rosalyn, has taught in Park Forest for over 20 years, currently at Michelle Obama [School of Technology and the Arts].

“Regis enjoys power lifting and bodybuilding and is a member of Vanguard Fitness located in downtown Park Forest,” Mr. Mick said.

Officer Bowers graduated from Suburban Law Enforcement Academy on April 12 and he now begins his field training.

His grandmother pinned on the newly-sworn officer’s badge.
