Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Park Forest Baseball has been selected to host the Sectional Round of the Pony National Tournament at Rich East High School from July 15 thru July 20. Five teams from the region will be competing, include squads from Midlothian, Ridge Beverly, Homewood, Blue Island and Park Forest.

The double elimination tournament will take place at the Rich East varsity field. On-street parking will be permitted along Indianwood near Rich East tennis courts during games to accommodate the attending families and spectators. Police will post the routes accordingly and provide the necessary traffic control.

Blue Island and Homewood will battle each other for the first game of the tournament on Tuesday, July 15, at 5:45 p.m. Ridge Beverly and Midlothian will meet on Wednesday at 5:45 p.m. The two losing teams of these games will meet on Thursday, also at 5:45 p.m.

Park Forest sees its first game on Friday, July 18, at 5:45 p.m., facing the winner of the Ridge Beverly/Midlothian game. Three games will be held on Saturday, the first beginning at 11:00 a.m., the second at 2:00 p.m., and the third is scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. The eighth game commences on Sunday, July 20, at 1:00 p.m. A ninth and final game is tentatively scheduled also for Sunday if the winner of Game 7 defeats the winner of Game 6 in Game 8.

And if you followed all of that, you probably don’t even need these tournament brackets, but we’re making them available anyhow.

The winner of this tournament goes on to the regional level. Teams reaching the final level go to California.
